Regulatory Requirements
Ontario HTA s.16 requires the name of the registered owner or lessee on both sides of commercial vehicles. Must be clearly legible, minimum 2" height, and match your CVOR certificate exactly.
Your registered company or operating name as it appears on your CVOR certificate.
We confirm your text and layout before cutting. No payment until you approve your proof.
If you operate a delivery van or box truck over 4,500 kg for commercial purposes in Ontario, your vehicle requires a CVOR number displayed prominently. For cross-border operations to the US, FMCSA regulations mandate a USDOT number as well. Our compliance lettering kits ensure full regulatory adherence with professional-grade application.

HTA Commercial Vehicle Lettering Reference
Under HTA s.16 and O.Reg 424/97, any commercial motor vehicle used for hire or in connection with any business must display the operator name and address on both sides. Minimum letter height is 50mm (2 inches), but MTO officers at the Vineland and Fort Erie weigh stations look for legibility — we recommend 3 inch minimum for name and phone number.

Check your vehicle registration for the GVWR — if it's over 4,500 kg, you need CVOR number and company name per O.Reg 424/97.
