Under Transport Canada TP 1332, all motorised pleasure craft in Alberta must:
- Hold a valid Pleasure Craft Licence (PCL)
- Display the PCL number on both sides of the bow
- Use block letters minimum 76mm (3") tall
- Use a contrasting colour to the hull
